Ranthambore National Park in the Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan is one of India's best and most dramatic wildlife reserves — and arguably the best place in the world to spot the Bengal tiger in the wild. The park covers 1,334 sq km of deciduous forest, lakes, rivers and dramatic rocky ridges crowned by the historic 10th-century Ranthambore Fort. The tigers here are relatively unafraid of jeeps, making sightings more probable than in most other reserves. Besides tigers, the park supports leopards, sloth bears, hyenas, jackals, mugger crocodiles, Indian pythons and nearly 300 bird species. Evening jeep safari into the park zones — best chance of tiger sightings at dusk.
Ranthambore – Morning & Afternoon Safaris
Early morning is prime time for tiger activity — morning jeep safari into a different zone maximises sighting chances. After breakfast, rest. Afternoon canter safari (open bus) into the forest — excellent for broader wildlife coverage including leopards, sloth bears and crocodiles at the lakes.
Morning Safari & Departure
Final morning jeep safari — a third opportunity to encounter the king of the jungle. Transfer to Sawai Madhopur station post breakfast for onward journey.
