Trip Overview

The Golden Triangle is India's most famous tourist circuit — a triangular route connecting three of the country's most historically and culturally rich cities: Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. Delhi, the capital, layers ancient Mughal monuments with a vibrant modern metropolis. Agra is home to the Taj Mahal — arguably the most beautiful building on earth — as well as the imposing Agra Fort and the haunting Mughal ghost city of Fatehpur Sikri. Jaipur, the Pink City and capital of Rajasthan, dazzles with the hilltop Amber Fort, the ornate Hawa Mahal, the Jantar Mantar observatory (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the city's legendary bazaars packed with gems, textiles and handicrafts. NorthYatra's Golden Triangle package is the perfect introduction to the best of India — history, architecture, culture and colour in six days.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Golden Triangle tour?

The Golden Triangle is India's most popular tourist circuit connecting Delhi, Agra and Jaipur — covering the Taj Mahal, Mughal monuments, Rajput forts and bazaars in a triangular route of approximately 720 km.

What is the best time for a Golden Triangle tour?

October to March is ideal with cool, pleasant weather. Avoid April-June (extreme heat, 40-45°C) and July-September (monsoon). The winter months offer the clearest Taj Mahal views.

How many days are enough for the Golden Triangle?

5-6 days is the sweet spot. NorthYatra's 6-day itinerary gives adequate time at each city without rushing. We also offer 4-day and 8-day variants.

Can I visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise?

Yes and it is absolutely recommended. The Taj Mahal opens at sunrise and the early morning light on white marble is magical. The crowds are also thinnest at sunrise.

Is the Golden Triangle suitable for families with children?

Very much so. The Taj Mahal, Amber Fort elephant rides, Jantar Mantar instruments and Fatehpur Sikri are all fascinating for children. NorthYatra can arrange child-friendly activities.

What is the distance between the three Golden Triangle cities?

Delhi to Agra is 200 km, Agra to Jaipur is 240 km, and Jaipur to Delhi is 270 km. All transfers are in comfortable AC vehicles with NorthYatra.

Is the Golden Triangle only about Rajasthan?

The Golden Triangle covers two states — Delhi (Union Territory/NCT), Agra in Uttar Pradesh, and Jaipur in Rajasthan. NorthYatra's package manages all three destinations seamlessly.
