Trip Overview
The Andaman Islands are one of India's most extraordinary natural treasures — a 572-island archipelago in the Bay of Bengal where tropical rainforests meet powder-white beaches and some of the world's most pristine coral reefs. While most visitors spend their trip in Port Blair, the real Andaman reveals itself on the outer islands: Havelock and Neil. Havelock Island (officially Swaraj Dweep) is the crown jewel — consistently ranked among Asia's top beaches, Radhanagar Beach (Beach No. 7) has won multiple awards for its turquoise waters, fine white sand and spectacular sunsets. The island offers world-class snorkelling and scuba diving at Elephant Beach, and the gentle Kalapathar Beach is perfect for sunrise walks. Neil Island (officially Shaheed Dweep) is quieter, more intimate and increasingly sought after for its natural beauty. Laxmanpur Beach is famous for its stunning sunset and natural rock formations (the Howrah Bridge). Bharatpur Beach has calm, shallow waters ideal for families and snorkelling. The island has a distinctly unhurried pace — no ATMs, minimal crowds, and night skies full of stars. Port Blair, the capital, holds its own with the deeply moving Cellular Jail (Kala Pani) — where freedom fighters were imprisoned by the British — and the Anthropological Museum. The Ross Island ruins, overgrown with roots and trees, speak of colonial ambition swallowed by nature. NorthYatra's 7-day Neil Island & Havelock Package is the most complete Andaman itinerary available — balancing beach time, sightseeing, water sports and island-hopping through carefully timed ferry connections.
